- Transfers must be made through Race Roster and follow all rules set by Run Calgary/Calgary Marathon Society. Selling your race bib outside of Race Roster, or having another person use your bib without following the proper transfer procedure is strictly prohibited. This act may seem well intentioned but has many negative implications to the organizers and participants including liability, medical support, timing, results, awards and many other factors. If Run Calgary/Calgary Marathon Society discovers that a bib was sold to another person outside of Race Roster or given to another person, they will not be allowed to participate in future events.
- If a registrant transfers their registration to someone else, products will have to be selected again during the transfer as they do not carry over to the new registration.

We have eliminated the use of the single-use clear plastic bags in an effort to make our race more sustainable. As a result, all your gear must be contained within your own bag. The bag you choose to use must meet the size requirements and specifications listed below. Bags that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted.
Bag Check Requirements
- Bag dimensions cannot exceed 20 inches (51cm) X 12 inches (30cm) X 8 inches (20cm). If your bag exceeds these dimensions, it will not be accepted.
- Bag weight cannot exceed 10 pounds (4.5kg). If your bag exceeds this weight, it will not be accepted.
- Your bag must have a strap/handle to which the Bag Check Tag can be easily attached.
- Bag must have Bag Check Tag securely fastened and visible PRIOR to arriving at Bag Check Tent
- When you receive your Bag Check Tag at Package Pick-up, ensure that the bib number printed on the tag is correct.
- Loose gear will not be accepted and must be contained within your own bag

Drop Off Process
- Participants will check their bag at the Bag Check rea which is located at the north side of Cowboys Park.
- Ensure your Bag Check Tag that you received at Package Pick-up is securely attached to a handle on your bag.
- Had your tagged bag to one of our volunteers and we'll take it from there!
- If your bag does not have a tag or you lost the tag you received at Package Pick-up, please give yourself extra time on race morning and come see a volunteer at the Bag Check tent.
Bag Retrieval Process
The Bag Pick-up is the exact same location as the Bag Drop-Off. To retrieve your checked bag, you (or someone else on your behalf) must present the Bag Claim Tag from your race bib - simply tear off the tab and present it to a volunteer at the Bag Check area.
Any bags not picked up by closing time on each day will be taken to Run Calgary HQ (1515 Highfield Crescent SE #17, Calgary, AB T2G 5M4) and kept for 14 days before being donated to charity. Event Organizers assume no risk for items checked or left behind.

- EAS is a standardized colour-coded system that communicates the projected status of course and venue conditions to all participants, volunteers, event staff and spectators.
- This colour-coded system ranges from Low (GREEN) to Moderate (YELLOW) to High (RED) to Extreme (BLACK). We encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the EAS colour indicators, watch for updates and plan accordingly.
- Participants, volunteers and event staff will be notified of the projected Event Alert System (EAS) status via email and SMS notifications (if opted in). An update will be provided early on race morning.
- In the event that the EAS Status changes, participants, volunteers and event staff will be notified via email, SMS notification (if opted in), PA announcements and social media posts.
- EAS Status will be indicated on-venue via color-coded flags located at Information Tents that are located in the start area and finish/festival area, and on-course at all aid stations. In the event that the EAS Status changes, flags will be updated accordingly to notify participants of the best course of action.
- Listen to the announcements on the start and finish stages, as well as during the awards presentation, as emcees will notify participants, volunteers and spectators of any change in the status.
- EAS status levels are based on a variety of factors, including a myriad of weather conditions and event conditions.
- Our main EAS page will display the most recent EAS status at the top of the page in the form of a coloured bar with the current status/level stated.
- Also indicated will be the date and time that the status was last updated.
All participants are assigned a corral based on the estimated finish time provided during registration (for 8 km and 21.1 km) or age (for the Kids Race). At the start of the race, corrals are released one at a time to avoid congestion on the course and ensure a smoother race start process. Rest assured, your official chip time begins when you cross the start line.
The corral you have been placed in will be reflected by a coloured dot on the top right corner of your bib.

Bike lock-up will be available at Cowboys Park for secure locking of bikes. Cyclists must provide their own lock and will be responsible for racking their bike and securing it with their lock. Check out our 2025 Venue Map to find the location of the bike racks within Cowboys Park.

Post-Race Questions
8 km and 21.1 km participants interested in receiving a medal must purchase a finisher medal by ADDING a medal to their cart during registration.
ALL Kids Race participants WILL receive a medal.
Yes. All race courses are professionally measured to ensure they meet their advertised distances.
Course measurements are based on the shortest possible running route using calibrated equipment.
If your GPS watch records a distance that is longer than the official course, this is completely normal. GPS devices measure the exact path you run, which is rarely the shortest possible route, and are subject to normal variations in accuracy. Your GPS distance can be affected by:
- Physical Blockages and Multipath Errors: Obstructions like dense tree cover, high buildings, or tunnels block signals. Signals can also bounce off surfaces like glass or water before reaching your device, causing location errors (multipath interference).
- Electronic Noise: Nearby high-voltage power lines, faulty electronics, and telecommunications equipment operating on adjacent frequencies can leak electromagnetic noise and disrupt receivers.
- The route you actually ran, which is often not the shortest possible path due to taking wide turns, weaving through participants, or leaving the race course.
As a result, it is common for GPS watches to display a race distance that is slightly longer than the officially certified course.
Official race results are based on the chip timing system from Startline Timing and will not be adjusted based on individual GPS/watch measurements.
Results will be updated live HERE on race day.
Your race results are posted online in real time and posted on our website. Chip timing will track your start and finish providing quick and accurate results and all runners must use this system. Your chip is attached to your bib, please make sure your bib is visible and not folded for accurate timing. Please note, the chips are disposable and are not required to be returned.
